I was going to do a round up of the seven most excellent things I’d read this year, but then, as ever, realised Brain Pickings did it better (cue envious eye roll). Their 2017 round up is packed full of good stuff to get you thinking and feeling inspired for 2018 – it has all the #STOAS-esque fodder you’ll ever need to end the year with. If you read last week’s post then you won’t have to guess too hard at the theme of this week’s STOAS. Joy, support and getting back on track. I’ve had a tough week, and have spent a lot of it feeling quite uncomfortable with my emotions, and just wishing enough time had gone by for ‘time is a healer’ to really come into its own. Then I remembered the advice of being your own best friend, and asking myself what I’d say to a friend who gave themselves a break to focus on important life stuff, and do a bit of self-preservation. What would I say? I’d tell them they should cut themselves some slack, focus on what feels good, and come back to the non-essential stuff when the time is right. Which, thankfully, feels right about now. Why did…
