I recently went skiing for the first time (review coming soon) and on the way back to Geneva airport I stumbled across the most beautiful town in south eastern France called Annecy. It sits at the most northern tip of Lake Annecy and it was quite possibly the most beautiful town I have ever seen. We only spent a few hours wandering around its narrow streets, cute cafes, bars and patisseries all held together by lots of winding canals that make every single view very special but it was enough to know I want to go back. Not only is…

I’ve been twice to Rome, once with my best friend and once with H, and both times have been pretty magical. As you’d except from a city so steeped in history, everywhere you look, every side street, every church you pop your head into offers something so incredibly breath-taking you almost become blasé at the splendour and sheer feat of what the Romans achieved with bricks and a paintbrush! Another great thing about Rome is the food. Oh, the food. Even the tourist traps offer delicious pasta, albeit overpriced, but because Italians don’t suffer bad food it’s hard to get…

After eating far too much in Copenhagen and telling you allll about it in Part One , here is where I pretend I’m actually much more cultured when I head on a city break and don’t spend all my time eating (honest). There are so many amazing things to do in Copenhagen, here’s a selection of my faves. P.S. I’m currently listening to The Year of Living Danishly and so far I LOVE it! Review to follow… DO Even if you don’t stay in SP34 (mentioned in part one), do visit the Latin Quarter anyway. It’s full of seriously cool…

Is Copenhagen the best place for a city break outside of New York? I think so. I recently came back from three nights in the Danish capital and honestly, I want to go back immediately. We must have uttered the word ‘cool’ about 4,000 times an hour: “Look at that cute street, so cool!”, “Look at that guy holding a beer while cycling home from work, so cool!”, “Look at her minimal, chic scandi outfit, SO. FLIPPING. COOLl!” etc. etc. Copenhagen residents are said to be the happiest on the planet and it’s easy to see why. The city just…

I love that phrase ‘my happy place’, it conjures up memories with people I love, be it Liverpool, the Lake District (I went there so much growing up), the Ile de Re in France (where I sit penning this) or my much-loved Cornwall and Devon. I’ve been going to Kingsand and Cawsand in South East Cornwall (they’re basically one tiny village on the border but in fact Kingsand is technically in Devon and Cawsand is in Cornwall) since I was 17. Every year various members of my family decamp to a house or two in these beautiful, sleepy hamlets that…
